My Philosophy

Jackalope Fitness believes that everyone has the power to change their health and well being, and to therefore change their lives for the better.

Our first step in working with individuals is to listen to them and hear what it is they would like to change about their wellness, why they feel the need to change, and what their personal vision is for that journey. It is only by tapping into the personal motivations and desires that each client hold that an effective program can be created. The long-term goals of each client serve as the foundation of their personal wellness plan.

From that foundation, Jackalope Fitness will create a comprehensive wellness plan to meet those goals and motivations. This plan may include any or all of the following components, depending on the personal needs of the client:

  • Cardiovascular Endurance - activities such as walking, running, swimming, and biking
  • Core Strength – building the strength and endurance of the abdominal and lower back muscles
  • Flexibility Training – improving range of motion at the joints
  • Balance Training – improving one’s balance and coordination
  • Muscle Strengthening – increasing strength and/or building muscle mass
  • Muscular Endurance – increasing the body’s ability to perform tasks for longer periods of time, such as abdominal crunches
  • Reactive Training – training the body to jump and land with greater power and less stress on joints
  • Relaxation – meditation and breathing techniques to decrease stress and increase feelings of tranquility and well being

Clients are encouraged to give continuous feedback on how they feel about the program so that modifications can be made as needed. Jackalope Fitness provides constant feedback on form and technique so that injuries can be avoided, efficiency increased, and results achieved more quickly. We provide knowledge on wellness principles, proper form and technique, and safe and effective program design and progression.

Reassessment of goals is an on-going and key component of the process. Long-term goals are broken down into short-term goals on a regular basis so that clients will be able to keep track of how they are doing, where attention needs to be focused, and where progress has been made.

Jackalope Fitness believes that everyone can be a success. Our job is to help to facilitate that process. We provide the specific knowledge and expertise about health and wellness principles and lay the groundwork for each client’s wellness plan. You make the plan come alive through your hard work and effort. Letting you know that you can do anything you desire is our ultimate measure of success!
